Sonam J. Vachhani
Prior to joining Katz Barsky, Sonam was an assistant district attorney for the District Attorney’s Office of Philadelphia. She was a member of the Major Jury Trials Unit where she prosecuted felony cases in Philadelphia criminal court. Sonam has tried several felony jury trials to verdict, securing a tough conviction in her very first jury trial. Sonam also worked in the Juvenile Unit, where she handled domestic violence and sexual assault cases, including those involving adult perpetrators sexually and physically abusing minor children.
Before becoming an Assistant District Attorney, Sonam served as a judicial fellow for the Honorable Robert P. Coleman in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Sonam earned her law degree from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University in Bloomington, where she graduated with honors, winning academic awards, including a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for best student performance in the field of trial advocacy. During her time there, she worked as a registered mediator in Bloomington, IN where she settled divorces and child custody agreements for indigent clients.
